RJR Group - Bicker Solar Farm, Culvert Replacement
Boston, Lincolnshire May 2026
Vicarage Drove Solar Farm is a 66MW site near Bicker in Lincolnshire, sitting within 80 hectares of flat, lower grade, fen farmland, close to three electricity substations and an existing wind farm. Now operational, Vicarage Drove will generate enough power for 14,000 homes and will save 22,500 tonnes of CO2 every year. RJR were tasked with replacing the live culvert with a new PCC culvert, complete with new headwalls, and re-aligning the and re-surfacing the existing highway which sits above it. RJR's design and build capabilities enabled us to carry out the project as principle contractor, managing and liaising with Lincolnshire Highways, Black Sluice Drainage board, and European Energy. The outcome was a beautifully designed headwall system, under budget and 6 weeks ahead of programme.
